Newsletter
General data processing
Personal data which you have provided us with in the course of registering for the newsletter will be used for the organisation and processing of the newsletter. In addition, your registration data will be used for marketing purposes for events and services of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt. The following personal data will be processed: name and e-mail address.
The data processing and use is carried out exclusively for the aforementioned purpose and only by employees of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt. Data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.
Data storage period
We process your personal data for as long as you remain in contact with us, and additionally for the duration of statutory storage and documentation obligations.
Applicants (general and scientific staff as well as lecturers)
General data processing
By submitting your application documents, you agree that personal data such as name, title, address, telephone number, date of birth, education, professional experience, or the data and images contained in the cover letter, curriculum vitae, certificates or other documents submitted, will be processed for the purpose of application and the use in an applicant database at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt.
The data processing and use is carried out exclusively for the aforementioned purpose and only by employees of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt. Data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent.
Data storage period
Any data provided will be stored for twelve months for the purpose of processing the application including follow-up questions. If your application leads to the execution of a contract and employment the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt GmbH, your data will be included in the personnel file.
Website
Use of our websites
Additional data that emanates during interaction with our websites [“the FH sites”] and services is collected for statistical purposes. For example, on the FH sites, data is collected from your browser using website analysis tools (see Google Analytics). This includes information such as the website from which you came to the FH sites, the search engine(s) and keywords you used to search for the FH sites, the pages of the FH sites you viewed, and the length of time you spent on the FH sites. In addition, technologies such as cookies or web beacons are used to collect information about the pages you view, the links you click and other actions you take on the FH sites. In addition, we collect some standard information that your browser sends to the websites you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and language, access times, and the addresses of the websites that referred you to the FH sites. Personal data is not collected and processed. Data is processed exclusively for the purpose of enabling the use of the FH sites (connection setup), system security and technical administration of the network infrastructure as well as for optimizing internet services.
In the context of using our e-learning platforms eduNET and Moodle, we process the personal data provided by you as well as that which accumulates during the use of these platforms. Students’, lecturers’ and staff’s data from the e-learning platforms is processed exclusively for teaching and study purposes.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help analyse the use of the respective site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

General data processing
Personal data which you have provided us with in the context of event registrations will be used for the organisation and realisation of the event you are interested in. This includes, but is not limited to, salutation, first and last names, e-mail address, postal address and the name of the event for which you have registered. In addition, your registration data will be used for marketing purposes for similar events and services of the FH Wiener Neustadt. Any photos and videos of events of the FH Wiener Neustadt can be published via the FH Wiener Neustadt’s media channels, as well as in local media coverage.

Alumni
General data processing
All personal data that you disclose to us in the course of your contact with the Alumni Club – name, date of birth, address, e-mail address, telephone number, employer, year of graduation, degree programme – will be processed exclusively by employees of the FH Wiener Neustadt. This processing is based on your data protection consent and is carried out for the purpose of alumni management at the FH Wiener Neustadt.
Data storage period
We store your data as long as you are in contact with us and you give us your consent.
Security of IT systems
General data processing
In accordance with the applicable legal data security regulations, a portion of your data will be processed for the management and security of IT systems, such as for the management of user accounts and access systems, for the allocation of hardware and software, and for the stability and security of the FH’s IT systems in general. This includes automatically created log files and archived text documents (such as correspondence) in these matters. Without this data processing, a secure operation of the systems and services and thus employment in our company is not possible. A combination with any personal data provided by you does not take place.
Information on data protection for participation in the FHKids Science Lab Holidays
General data processing
Personal data that you have provided us with when registering your child(ren) for the FHKids Science Lab Holidays will be used for the organisation and processing of the respective event. This processing is based on your data protection consent, which you have given us by registering for the FHKids Science Lab Holidays.
In the case of excursions/events organised within the framework of the FHKids Science Lab Holidays, your data can be passed on to external contractors (e.g. Hilfswerk Österreich, Projektbüro Doris Bernhard) for the organisation of the said events. The following personal data will be processed:
Child: name, date of birth, address, other relevant information, T-shirt size
Legal guardian: name, relationship with child, telephone number, e-mail address
Any photos and videos of events of the FH Wiener Neustadt can be published via the FH Wiener Neustadt’s media channels, as well as in local media coverage.
Data storage period
We will store the data that you have provided us with when registering for the event for as long as you are in contact with us, and for the duration of statutory storage and documentation obligations. In general, this is two years for health data and three years for general personal data.
Exchange programmes
Personal data that you have provided us with in connection with your participation in exchange programmes will only be used for the organisation and realisation of the relevant exchange programme and will be forwarded to the respective partner university if required. In the case of events which are organised as part of your exchange programme, your data may be passed on to external contractors for the organisation and realisation of the respective event. The following personal data will be processed: name, date of birth, gender, e-mail address, address, telephone number, health insurance, study data, language skills, and copies of travel documents.
Data storage period
We process your personal data for as long as you remain in contact with us and for the duration of statutory storage and documentation obligations. In general, this is two years for health data, three years for general personal data, seven years for financial data, and 80 years for audit data under the Education Documentation Act.
Prospective students and applicants for degree programmes
General data processing
All personal data that you disclose to us in connection with your online application – name, contact details, citizenship, place of birth, date of birth, civil service/presence service, school leaving certificate, curriculum vitae, school leaving certificate, ID document(s), social security number, health data (for applications for a health degree programme) – will be processed exclusively by employees of the FH Wiener Neustadt. This processing is based on your data protection consent and is carried out for the purpose of processing your application. Should you receive a study place after the admission procedure, the further processing of your data will take place on the basis of and for the purpose of fulfilling the educational agreement or on the basis of the legal reporting obligations of the Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt GmbH. There is no legal or contractual obligation for you to disclose your data. However, an application is only possible via the online application system provided. Failure to provide the information requested there will prevent us from processing your application and therefore your application and, subsequently, the conclusion of an educational agreement.
Data storage period
We store your data as long as you are in contact with us. If your application is rejected, the data provided will be deleted within three years. This excludes data that must continue to be stored due to legal regulations. If your application leads to an admission to the Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt GmbH and the conclusion of an educational agreement, your data will be included in the student file.
Educational Counselling & School Marketing
Personal data which you have provided us with in the context of school fairs and presentations, excursions, or for supplying you with information about us, will be used for the organisation and provision of these services. In addition, your data will be used for marketing purposes for events and services of the FH Wiener Neustadt. Any photos and videos of excursions to the FH Wiener Neustadt may be published through local media coverage of this event. The following personal data will be processed: salutation, name and e-mail address.
